Keifha Nasrallah
With confidence and love and with security and safety as well as with joy and enthusiasm and some conceit, you start flying high. You know what is going on and you are certain of it, for you have dreamed and planned it for a long time. And often you spoke to yourself of it. At the same time, you started breaking the chains and soaring in the sky. You reach higher and higher until you’re about to touch the stars. You feel that you are a part of them and that your light radiates from them. At the same time, you come falling down; you descend quickly and crash to the earth heavily.
A horrible and frightening crash that echoes throughout your body and in heart-- to the very morrow of your bones. Your skin is stuck to the earth so that you become a part of it and not a part of the star. Perhaps you even sink lower. You begin rising again and quickly try to fix the problem. You ignore your pain and agony up to the end. When you get closer to your target, it becomes bright again. You can see the stars, and the same thing happens again. This time your scream is loud and filled with terror. It’s a shaking one. In it you announce your refusal and your perseverance. And once more you try, and your rise very slowly, while your scream doesn’t actually scare anyone but yourself. Neither does it shake anyone but yourself. Its sound echoes in only in your heart, for you haven’t actually risen except for a very little distance, which no one can see. And even there at the starting point where you haven’t taken off, you might crash to the earth quickly and heavily without bearing the idea of leaving it.
Everything disappears-- the energy, the enthusiasm and the strength until there is no more joy or safety and no more love. Nothing is left except your insecurity and conceit and the remains of an awful, deep voice that frightens you and shakes you from inside
